Reporter guidelines
- Post what you saw or confirmed yourself. Say clearly when something is unconfirmed.
- Stay safe and out of the way. Never cross a line or slow down first responders to get a shot.
- No graphic images of injured people, and nothing from inside someone’s home.
- Be fair and factual. No guesses about who’s to blame, and no insults.
- Your phone and email stay private. Only your name, photo, area and bio are public.
- Editors can edit or remove posts, and verification can be turned off if the guidelines aren’t followed.

Questions
Does it cost anything?
No. Verified reporters are free members.
Do I need to be a journalist?
No. Neighbors, photographers and people who listen to the scanner are all welcome. If you work for a news outlet or run a page, you can add it to your profile.
Will my phone number be public?
No. We use it to verify you and to reach you about a post. Your email and phone are never shown on the site.
Can I still post without being verified?
Yes. Anyone can add details to an incident as a neighbor — those posts show your first name and go through review.
How do I post once I’m approved?
Sign in on this site with the same email, open any incident and tap +. Your updates appear with your name and a Verified reporter badge.
